Rational explanation wanted!

We Zarathustra the Cat are so kind to share with you Our impressions from Manifesto 13  exhibition at Rizzordi Art Foundation, St.Petersburg, Russia. The question came to Our mind:

This is exhibition art on the wall, and this is internet meme in our paws. What makes a difference???

Why curators and art critics treat this work by Max Papeschi as art, and “Famous Paintings Improved by Fat Cats” as internet meme? Why they treat almost all hundreds of remixes of Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” as not art but just internet memes? Some of them are more artfully done, clever and of course more famous that the work exhibited here! Who can give an anser?  Rational explanation wanted! 10 000 purrs reward!
N.B. We don’t accept explations as: “Max Papeschi is an artist, and you Zarathustra is just a lolcat”!

After having scratched Our big head over this enigmatic question, We put it on the laps of a pretty witch by Angela Loveday:

Witches always love cats, cats always love witches! And raw meat also…

Contemporary art has various taste.
Thus speaks Zarathustra the Cat
