Terrace of a cafe at night visited by giant cats
Everybody remembers how lively looked the terrace of a cafe on the Place du Forum in Arles, France, when Van Gogh painted it in 1888.
The place still exists nowadays. It is visited by giant cats, from time to time, during long winter nights:
The giant cats strolling in the night are interested in the people in the people inside the warm restaurant, maybe humans would be so kind to suggest some shrimpes for furry meownsters?
The third cat watches what is happening from high, ready to jump down if other felines find something interesting
But humans are afraid of giant cats and don’t want to be aware of their problems in searching for shrimps. They just go inside and close their doors not to let the creatures which don’t look like them inside.
Only one brave girl tooks a plate of prawns and mussels, just the same that Van Gogh painted in 1886, opens the door and calls for kitties:
“Here, kitty kitty, come here, have these tasty shrimpies!”
The brave one who is not afraid of strange foreigners is rewarded with thunderous purrs!
Now have a look at the commonly known version of the masterpiece from the Kröller-Müller Museum collection:
No migration drama in it! No you se wich version is true!
Thus speaks Zarathustra the Cat
